Taken at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt Pleasant, South Carolina.
The oaks were planted in 1743 by the son of Major John Boone. They are a symbol of southern heritage and line the driveway to the home located on Boone Hall Plantation. The plantation has been open since 1956 to the public. It is still a working plantation, one of America's oldest. For over threee centuries, crops have been growing and are produced there. Visitors can experience the history of the plantation and gardens. You can also pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables that are grown there year-round. It is a wonderful stop on your South Carolina vacation. There are many special events held there thruout the year, including a fun-filled, yet spooky Halloween treat.
