Stratford Point Light is a historic lighthouse in Stratford, Connecticut, United States, at the mouth of the Housatonic River. This is the second tower which was one of the first prefabricated cylindrical lighthouses in the country and remains active.
It sits on a 4-acre tract at the southeastern tip of Stratford Point and the Western side of the opening to the Housatonic River.
For years the Lighthouse has served as an unofficial symbol for Stratford. It has not been open to the public since the 1970's, but good news is it seems that the town and the Coast Guard have come to an Agreement that the Lighthouse will once again be opened to the public at some point.
This was taken while cruising on our boat on the Long Island Sound.
