Description
This is an Eastern American Toad which I call a "Garden Frog". Here in Connecticut they are very popular, except in the urban areas. These little guys and gals like to scare the heck out of me while I am working in the gardens. Today was no different! They also like to scare me at night while I am walking the dog, they love to feast on the crickets!!
Mating season peaks in late April, and I guess with the summer-like weather we have had the past few days, they came out early from their burrows. There were two in one flower bed and now I realize that one was female and one was a male.
Well, I hope they found each other, that is after I was done catching a few images between planting new tulips since my deer (White Tailed Deer) friends decided to eat all my tulips buds this morning!! So, I had to run out and buy all new tulips so that there would be some flowers for the spring!! :>) This time, I sprayed them to keep the deer away! I hope the frogs will stay!! Guess, I can expect to be scared again, next time I week when I work on the gardens!! :>)
