Description
Some Interesting Facts about the Wild turkey: feeds on insects, fruit and seeds. The wild turkey was eliminated here in Connecticut, due to hunting and loss of habitat in the early 1800's. They were introduced in the mid 1970's. Did you know that they were going to be the national bird but lost by 1 vote to the Bald Eagle. Their eyesight is 3x better than humans!! They can fly up to 60 MPH! Faster than some Highway Drivers!! (just kidding) Actually it is pretty amazing for such a heavy bird!
